A Night at Frenchette NYC

On a recent rainy Saturday evening, I was feeling a little French and decided to finally act on a recommendation a friend gave me a while ago– to try a meal at Frenchette, a small Parisian restaurant in Tribeca. It’s always hard to leave the house on a rainy day, but the weather fit the restaurant beautifully; we walked into a dimly lit, sophisticated setting that completely transported us to a small bar in Paris. The red leather seats, dark wooden tables, and smell of wine and bread reminded me of some of the great meals I had while abroad. I was hooked without even taking a single bite.

It was a busy night so we were seated at the bar, but they ended up being the best seats in the house. We were able to talk with the very kind and helpful staff, take in the conversations around us and partake in some people-watching. Everyone was extremely friendly and stylish; it truly felt like a European experience.

Frenchette has a wide variety of wine by the glass and I enjoyed every sip of my selection. When you go, you must get a baguette, as stereotypically French as it sounds. It was fresh, served with delicious butter, and had a crunch that made it irresistible! For my meal, I started with Gnocchi Parisienne and then ordered the Poulet Roit for two. The chicken was moist and had incredible seasoning that was bursting with fresh herbs and had a distinctly French flavor. The mashed potatoes that came with it were to die for; they even came separately in their own Le Creuset and were covered in butter and cream. It was a decadent meal and I am excited to one day go back for dessert.

On a night when I was feeling French, I was so happy to enjoy this new discovery and eat some of my favorite French cuisine. It was a restaurant I felt was made for me and, honestly, I feel it could be a restaurant for everyone! I recommend Frenchette highly and hope you enjoy the atmosphere, food, drink, and Parisian charm as much as I did.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
